Day 3 started with an early breakfast at 8.00am before we all headed to Getafe as our U15 boys team took on Madrid Euro Soccer Academy. Having drawn 1-1 with Atletico Bilbao Academy in their last game we knew the opposition was always going to be tough. It was a great learning experience for our boys particularly the younger students in the team who were up against physically stronger players. The game finished in an 8-0 defeat but the boys can be proud of their performance and effort.
The group then travelled to central Madrid for a stadium tour of the Santiago Bernabeu home of Real Madrid. The students did not get as much access as the previous days tour but just being able to sit in what was an incredible stadium and see the famous history of arguably the biggest club in the world in their museum was something they will all cherish. Once again students had the opportunity to visit the club shop at the end.
The students then returned to the hotel for lunch before heading out again with the U14 boys playing CD Torrelaguna Villa. Unfortunately this was a mismatch from the start with a number of the opposition being 2 years older than some of our year 8 students. Unfortunately not much was gained from the contest with the highlight being Harun scoring the first goal of the tour in a heavy defeat.
The U15 boys team then travelled to EMF Villarejo for an evening game under the lights. Despite playing earlier in the day the boys put in a determined performance and were eventually undone by tired legs going down 3-0.
Tomorrow sees another early start with two morning training sessions and then the final 2 matches of the tour.
