Hockey-

Last Wednesday the 1st team played Shiplake. LP took a 1-0 lead goal from Michael Rincon. Following an equaliser from Shiplake, Will Mullins broke through and scored two consecutive goals. A well taken shot from Dom was deflected, leaving the final score at 4-1 to LP. Player of the match goes to Will Mullins for his work rate and 2 goals.

Last Thursday the U13 girls played their In2Hockey tournament. They finished 3rd in the plate competition after beating Marlston in the semis. Well done to Anna B, Niamh and Maribel for scoring and Charlotte Coyle for being top goal scorer.

The U13 boys played their In2Hockey tournament. After a tough group stage, they went into the plate where they beat the likes of Pangbourne and Desborough to go on and win the competition! Emil and Luca scored some well worked team goals throughout the day. A special mention to Oscar and Oli Oke for their great play.

Football-

The 1st XI won a thrilling match against Claire’s Court last Wednesday. After a lacklustre first 20 minutes they trailed 2-0 but they rallied before half time with two goals from Markel and one from Barney to lead 3-2. Claire’s court equalised early in the second half but LP got the winner when Felix set up Oscar to score his second goal in 2 games.

They couldn't repeat the win this week against a very strong Salesians team. LP were the better team in the first half coming in at 1-1 with a wonder strike from Markel. The final score was 5-1 despite a heroic performance from Centre back Jack Van Dijk Gilbey.

Last week the U14B won a close game against Holme Grange. Leading 1-0 at half time through a goal from Will, they extended their lead in the second half and despite a late fightback they held out for a well deserved victory.

The U14A's travelled to Bohunt on Monday and found it hard going against a physical and technical team. The boys finished second best with a man of the match performance from Ted Smith who worked tirelessly in midfield.

Rugby

This week the fryer U12A and U13A teams went to Crossfields for their annual 7s tournament. Both teams played eagle house, Crossfields, Shiplake and Brockhurst. The U12A put in some extremely good performances showing great improvements throughout the day with their best performance against the hosts Crossfields. Player of the day goes to Alain for his powerful runs and great work rate in defence. The U13A team also played some fantastic rugby beating Brockhurst 20-0, Shiplake 15-10 and Crossfields 10-5 unfortunately they lost their first game against eagle house which meant they finished second. Some great rugby on display however man of the tournament goes to Hamish for his 6 tries and playing every single minute of every game.

The U12B team travelled to Reddam House on Wednesday where they played a well organised Reddam House A team who eventually ran out 30-20 winners. This afternoon our U12A play our U12B and U13A play our U13B in the league good luck to all Fryers playing this afternoon.

Netball-

Last week the U14A and U15A netball teams both won against St.Joseph's College, the players of the match went to Ellie and Connie.

The U18 1st team won against Claire’s Court 31-21 in the last league match of the season until finals week. Nic lee got player of the match for her great defensive play. Well played to the U18B and C team too.

A great match for the U14As this week, beating Bohunt 20-2 goals, making them top of the Reading League! Well played girls and the player of the match went to Linda.

The U18 ISA netball team travelled to Staffordshire, however ended up playing Rugby School and Denstone College. Two prestigious sports teams, where we played honourably and some of the best netball I’ve seen this season, which was commented on by Rugby School. All of the girls played excellently and should be proud of their efforts. Well done girls!

Basketball

Drin’s squad travelled to Bedales last week in the Inter county Basketball league. The team was confident and were 6 points up at half time thanks to powerful play from Philipos and excellent dribbling from Yemin. Bedales upped their game and ended the game winners beating us 40-29. Man of the match to Philippos for tireless work up and down the court and excellent shooting against a tough defence.

Team of the week: U18 A Netball team

Manager of the Month (Feb): Matt for his wins at the In2Hockey Tournaments
