Sports round-up

24/11/19 Rugby The U14 A's secures their place in the GoPerform league final on Tuesday by beating Sherfield away on a pitch best described as a bog! In difficult conditions the boys stuck to their game plan and a try came with the were powerful James getting over the line. The second half saw Sherfield tire under immense pressure and superb solo tries from Dan, a great team try for Toby and another for James secured the win. Excellent place kicking from Louis with three conversions and man of the match to Ammon who ripped the ball out of the tackle like taking candy from a baby all match. The U15s travelled to LVS yesterday for their Semi - Final of the GoPerform League competition. The U15s had already played LVS earlier on in the season and LVS won comfortably. However in thursdays semi final Leighton Park matched LVS in all areas of the pitch with great physicality in attack and defence. The U15s scored first through Albie and doubled their lead just before half time with a great solo try from Zak who commanded his forward pack around the pitch all afternoon. The U15s looked to have a commanding 12-0 lead in the game before captain Tommy unfortunately had to be taken from the field due to a head knock. This changed the dynamic of the game and LVS managed to level the scores before half time. LP started the 2nd half much as they started the 1st, with two opportunities to take the lead but unfortunately knocked the ball on just at the last minute. The game continued to be extremely physical with neither team willing to give up the win. LVS managed to score three quick tries in the last 5 minutes of the game and they will now go through to next week's GoPerform League finals. The U16s Rugby squad played twice this week. On Monday they travelled to Forest for the Semi-Finals of the super 8 competition. The boys face a much larger Forrest team however they did not let that phase them. The squad played some great rugby and fronted up in both attack and defence. The squad then travelled to HAlliford school on Wednesday. The team played some great rugby and finished the afternoon with 3 games of rugby 7s where the LP U16s team won all three ties. A special mention must go to Juan for his excellent solo try and Pratush for his excellent work at the breakdown. Next week we have house rugby on Monday for the senior squads which will take the format of rugby 7s and then Tuesday will see the junior competition begin where there will be touch and contact versions of the game being played. Please organise our team for what will be a great competition. Finally, on Thursday we will host the finals of the GoPerform Berkshire Schools Rugby Competition. Our U14s are in the final and are the favorites for the win, if you would like to come and support the boys kick off will be at 14.00. Football The U12 girls played football away against Oakbank, Reading girls and Chiltern edge, they played really well and came away with a win, loss and a draw.
