Sports Round Up



The Fryer A team continue to perform well this week by winning 3-0 against Maiden Erlegh, it was a very strong performance from all the girls with a special mention to charlotte for scoring 2 goals and katie for scoring 1 as well as Rebecca for winning player of the match.

The 1XI played this week against Reddam House, the girls went out strong and dominated the game from the start and this was reflected in the 3 goals they scored to secure the win. 2 Goals came from Millie and 1 from Kate, with Livvy and Tabby receiving players of the game. Grat work from all the girls that played.


On Wednesday Fryer played 3 matches v Thorngrove 1st team came from a goal down to win with goals from Eddie and Hamish. 2nd team won 3-1 with an excellent performance to make it 3 wins in a row. 3rd team won convincingly with luca getting a hatrick.

Yesterday LP took part in the annual St Neots 6 a side tournament. Finishing top of their group with only one goal conceded, LP beat St andrews 1-0 in a close semi-final, which set up final against hosts St Neots, An Emil Mursalov penalty in extra time gave them a 1-0 win and victory in the tournament for the first time in 5 years. Well done to the winning squad Luca, Hamish, Oliver, Noah, Ali, Alfie and Emil.

It has been a great week for girls football, on tuesday a squad of 8 fryer girls went to play in an ISA girls football competition, the girls performed extremely well getting all the way to the final of the shield competition, they unfortunately lost their final game finishing runners up. The U14 girls played in a triangular yesterday, for many of the girls this was their first game of football, they played well finishing by drawing with St jos and just being beaten by bohunt. Well done to all the girls that played this week.


Well done to all the girls that went to Netball counties last weekend, they all player amazingly well and had some great results throughout the day.


Two games and two wins this week for the U14 A’s. A huge team effort from the pack in the second half and a great scrum platform gave the boys good attacking ball in horrendous weather conditions. Tries from Henry, Finn, Louis and Ben J secured LP a narrow Victory. MOM goes to Dan for relentless tackling, leadership and carrying in the second row. Yesterday in a nail biter they beat Trinity school 7-5 in the county cup with out only try from man of the match Henry and the key conversion from Louis taking LP into round 3.

The U15’s played boys all played really well on Tuesday and came out with a great 21-17 win over Reddam House.


On Monday we had a swimming gala against LVS Ascot which we won, well done to all the swimmers that competed! This is where we practised for the ISA Regional Swimming Competition held this Thursday at ACS Cobham. Superb swimming was seen from all the LP students yesterday at the ISA regional Competition, medals were awarded to Jude Hayes for his individual backstroke

Team of the week: Honorable mention to the fryer football team for their 2nd 6 a side tournament win of the season as well as the LP Swim squad who did superbly at the ISA Regionals. U14 Rugby for their 2 wins this week and making it to the 3rd round of the cup
