Daisy B – Henley & GB Rowing

Daisy continues to shine in her coxed 4’s Henley crew where this weekend they won the WJ18 coxed 4s event in a field of 21 ‘A’ crews from all the major schools and rowing clubs across the country. Next weekend is the first of four assessment weekends for GB Junior Rowing, held in Boston, Lincs. Daisy will be travelling up during the day on Friday this week and we wish her all the best.

Nic L – Vipers Cricket

12 girls aged between 14 and 18 from Berkshire County Cricket, were put forward to a selection process with the Southern Vipers at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton on the 28th October.

The Southern Vipers is an English women's Twenty20 cricket team. They compete in the Women's Cricket Super League and are a Regional Development Centre for age group players, providing the Pathway for England.

Our very own Nic L (Year 9) was one of those Berkshire players identified to try out and she joined her teammates along with similar numbers from Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire for a try out. They were assessed for their fielding, batting, bowling and match awareness by the head coach for the Vipers. Just 20 girls across all the counties were selected to go forward for winter training. It was an incredibly tough, rigorous and competitive process and Nicola was successful and was selected to go through. She performed extremely well, and was the youngest girl to be identified with the right level of talent and ability. Congratulations Nic!

Felix T – Table Tennis

Felix has got back into the England Table Tennis squad: Back in the squad for the 9-13 age group. They will be running a training camp in Nottingham every month and hopefully he will get the opportunity to play in some international competitions too. Felix is also frequently being invited to train with the older England Youth Squad. There is a report about this on the Table Tennis England website here.
